The United States Green Building Council, the Congress for the New Urbanism and the Natural Resource Defense Council have partnered
together to create the LEED for Neighborhood Development Pilot Rating System. The rating system integrates the principles of smart growth, urbanism and
green building to set a high national standard for environmentally responsible and sustainable development.
The Brewery was accepted as a LEED for Neighborhood Development Pilot Project along with 250 others. As the Pilot Program came to a close, The Brewery
was one of only four to achieve the Platinum level with only 55 projects successfully completing the challenge.
"It is my pleasure to recognize The Brewery as having completed Pre-review Approval at the Platinum level."
S. Richard Fedrizzi
President, CEO & Founding Chairman
U.S. Green Building Council

The Brewery is an environmentally responsible redevelopment that has reenergized from a previously developed brownfield area in downtown Milwaukee.
This site's location is enhanced by its close proximity to neighborhood schools, jobs, bike routes and public transportation.
Neighborhood Pattern & Design
Urbanism and smart growth planning principles were utilized to develop project density, a mixed-use environment, diversity and affordability of
residential dwellings, site connectivity with pedestrian friendly streetscapes and centralized parking.

Green Construction & Technology
The Brewery has focused on historic preservation and has taken a sustainable approach to the renovation of existing structures. Energy efficiency, water reduction,
the recycling of materials, construction waste management and stormwater management are at the forefront of the integrated design process.
